Albuquerque, NM

We left Sacramento on Sunday and stopped overnight in Hawthorne, NV and Las Vegas. We did some outlet shopping and had dinner and we've had enough Vegas for a while.  We have some pictures from Phoenix but I am having trouble uploading them so I thought I would try posting just text and try again.

Monterey-Seventeen Mile Drive

 We drove along the coast yesterday on the 17 Mile Drive. We had another beautiful day---viewing nature and multi-million dollar homes.

 

Whale Watching on Monterey Bay

    

 We went whale watching yesterday and it was fabulous! We saw an incredible number of whales--humpbacks and orcas. There are hundreds of whales in the bay which is unusual for this time of year. The anchovies are abundant so the whales are sticking around to eat. Good for us!

Santa Cruz/ Monterey KOA

Tess got kicked off the Boardwalk.

I won 7 free nights at a KOA deluxe cabin and we decided to use them this week. We went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk today. We couldn't believe all the gulls and pelicans on the beach and in the water--there were also a lot of seals. The weather was beautiful and we had a very nice day.

We got home around 3:30 today and we are exhausted. For the first time ever, we did not completely unload the trailer. Tomorrow is another day. Here are a few last pictures that I had trouble uploading from the road. We ended our trip as we began it--having dinner with Gary's brother Larry, his daughter, Ashley and her boyfriend, Jason in Winnemucca.
