Last Blog and Picture

Well, this will be the last blog for this trip since we got home yesterday. We had a great time and it was fun to share our pictures. We have mixed emotions about being home but we already have our next trip planned. We will post pictures from Arizona and the Grand Canyon in October.

Crater Lake National Park--Monday

We stopped at Crater Lake in Oregon and it was so beautiful. The road around the lake wasn't open yet because it was still blocked by snow.

Lava Lands

We stopped for lunch quite by accident at Lava Land National Monument and walked around the lava beds. Very pleasant.

Wallace, Idaho

After we had the bearings replaced, we drove to Spokane, WA and stopped for dinner on the way in Wallace, Idaho. We asked about these signs and were told they are the center of the mining universe.

Missoula, Montana--Saturday

We had another wheel bearing start smoking on our way to Missoula and we couldn't find anyone who did mobile service so we were towed. It was very scary to watch and it was even scarier at 65 mph on the freeway.

Glacier in the Rain

It was raining when we left in the morning and we had a different view of the mountains.

Glacier -- Continued

Here are the pictures I couldn't upload yesterday. We went on our tour in the red bus--it was a nice way to see the park. Today, we just drove from Glacier to Deer Lodge, Montana. Another long day of driving and no tv--we haven't had reception for about a week. We do miss watching the news and weather.

Glacier National Park

We decided at the last minute to detour north to visit Glacier National Park. It is such a beautiful park--we had been here once before but we couldn't drive up the mountain due to snow. We took a tour up to the summit this morning and in the afternoon, we drove part of the road again and took along Bean. The combination of the mountains and the lakes makes it very striking. I will upload a few more pictures tomorrow--the internet is very slow tonight.
