Aunt Rose's 90th Birthday Party

Last night, we went to Aunt Rose's party and I saw relatives I haven't seen in 30 years or more. We had a very nice time and everyone was very welcoming and warm.

Cleveland Part II

Here are some more pictures from our travels around town today. We had lunch at the B Spot which is owned by Michael Symon who is one of the Food Networks chefs. We both had a terrific meal. We stopped after for ice cream at our childhood spot. We had a nice view from our campsite until it got crowded.

Cleveland Part I

Today, we drove around Cleveland a bit. We went to the cemetery where my mother's parents and my aunt are buried. I hadn't been there in about 33 years. Then, we drove to Hinckley where we used to swim and Tess sure enjoyed her swim even though it was only in the 50's and the water was frigid.

Richmond, IN--Monday, April 22

My roommate from college, Barb, came to our trailer for dinner on Monday and we had a very nice visit. We lived together our sophomore and junior years.

Abilene, KS--Saturday, April 20

We ended up driving through to Michigan from Salt Lake City in order to keep on schedule. We did take one side trip to the Eisehhower boyhood home and library. It was very interesting--I'm glad we took the time to stop.

Kansas--Friday, April 19

When we left home, we never expected to be driving through Kansas. But we'll do anything to avoid snow.

Limon, CO

We stayed in Salt Lake City an extra day because of bad weather. We went to see "42" which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The storm dropped a lot of snow along I-80 so we decided to take I-70 instead. We drove through Colorado today and ran into a lot of snow along the summits just before Denver. I took a picture of the outside temperature around Vail after lunch and as you can see it was 7 degrees. It is SO cold. Hopefully, we are done with snow but I think we are in for a lot of cold.

Salt Lake City, Utah

We left home on Saturday for a trip back east. We stayed Saturday night in Winnemucca and had dinner with Gary's brother, Larry, his daughter, Ashley and her boyfriend, Jason. I took my camera but forgot to take a picture.
Gary went to the family history library here in Salt Lake City but didn't have much luck. We decided to stay an extra day because a huge snowstorm is going through tomorrow. We need to get to Cleveland by the 27th so I'm not sure how many photo opps there will be along the way. We definitely will be posting a lot pictures after Cleveland.
